Past & Present – Meet Our Great Volunteers
Honoring the Founding Committee of Friends of Malton and our current servant leaders.
Our Founding Vision
Honoring the Founding Committee of Friends of Malton
“In the beginning, there were fourteen. Fourteen who said 'yes' to a vision bigger than themselves. Fourteen who believed that the best way to honor the past was to serve the present. Fourteen who became the foundation of what we now call Friends of Malton. We stand on their shoulders, and we honor their legacy by continuing the work they began.”
Before Friends of Malton became the thriving ministry it is today, it began with a sacred gathering—a covenant meeting of faithful servants who refused to let the legacy of the Malton Church of God fade into memory.
In 2023, fourteen devoted alumni came together with a shared burden and a unified purpose: to preserve the spirit of fellowship, service, and community that had defined their spiritual home for over four decades. These founding members didn't just plan an event—they planted a seed. They laid the foundation for what would become Friends of Malton, ensuring that the torch of faith and service would continue to burn brightly in this community.
Their first act of stewardship was to organize our inaugural celebration event, honoring Bishop Huel O. Wilson and First Lady Clementina Wilson—the pioneers whose vision in 1977 started it all. This wasn't just a tribute to the past; it was a declaration of commitment to the future.
“They gathered not out of nostalgia, but out of obedience. Not to preserve a building, but to continue a mission. These fourteen individuals are the architects of Friends of Malton 2.0.”

The Founding Fourteen
These founding members gathered around a table with a vision, a prayer, and a commitment to stewardship. They organized the inaugural Wilson Gala, successfully honored the legacy of their spiritual parents, and in doing so, birthed a movement.

“To the Founding Fourteen: Your faithfulness is the foundation upon which we build. Your vision is the compass by which we navigate. Your covenant is the promise we keep.”

Friend of Malton 2.0
At the heart of Friends of Malton is a family of dedicated servant leaders and volunteers who have committed their lives to walking alongside our neighbors in faith and service. We are not staff members or hired administrators—we are alumni of the former Malton Church of God, bound together by a 30-year legacy of worship, fellowship, and Kingdom work.
Our leadership committee brings together decades of ministry experience, professional expertise, and deep-rooted love for the Malton community. Each member serves as a volunteer, giving their time, talents, and hearts to ensure that the legacy of faith and service continues to transform lives in this generation and the next.
“Our hands are busy with the work, but our hearts are anchored in the love we first shared at the Malton Church of God. We are simply neighbors helping neighbors, fueled by the love of Christ.”

The Work is Not Done by a Select Few
The work of Friends of Malton is not done by a select few—it is accomplished through many hands working together in unity and purpose. Whether you have an hour a week or a day a month, whether you bring professional skills or simply a willing heart, there is a place for you in this ministry.
We believe that when God's people come together in service, mountains move, lives are transformed, and communities are healed. If you feel called to be part of this legacy—to serve alongside us as we continue the mission that began in 1977—we invite you to take the next step.
