Business & Education
Empowering our neighbors with the tools, knowledge, and mentorship needed to thrive.
Welcome to Our Ministry
Empowering Dreams. Building Futures. Multiplying Impact.
We believe God gives every person talents and seeds for success. Our goal is to water those seeds.
At Friends of Malton, we believe that economic empowerment is a Kingdom mandate. When we help someone unlock their God-given potential, start a business, or develop professional skills, we aren't just changing their financial situation — we're restoring their dignity, expanding their influence, and positioning them to be a blessing to others.
Our Business & Education pillar is rooted in the biblical principle of stewardship. We believe that financial literacy, professional development, and entrepreneurial training are tools for Kingdom impact. When people thrive economically, they can provide for their families, give generously, and become catalysts for transformation in their communities.
Professional Development
We provide workshops, seminars, and resources designed to help individuals develop career skills, build resumes, navigate job searches, and position themselves for professional advancement.
Entrepreneurial Support
We offer mentorship, business planning resources, networking opportunities, and the “Local Spotlight” platform to help small business owners gain visibility and grow their impact in the community.

The Local Spotlight
We use our platform to promote small, locally-owned businesses, giving them visibility they might not otherwise afford. Every business highlighted receives social media promotion, website features, and community endorsement -- helping them reach new customers and expand their influence.
Professional Seminars
We host "Knowledge Exchange" sessions where professionals from our alumni network -- accountants, lawyers, tradespeople, and business owners -- provide free workshops on financial literacy, resume building, small business start-up basics, and career development.
Mentorship Programs
We pair aspiring young entrepreneurs with seasoned professionals from our former congregation. This provides the invaluable "tool" of social capital -- access to networks, wisdom, and guidance that are often gatekept. Mentorship accelerates growth and opens doors that talent alone cannot.
Financial Literacy
We teach practical money management skills -- budgeting, saving, investing, credit building, and debt elimination. We believe that financial freedom begins with financial education, and we're committed to equipping our community with the knowledge they need to thrive.
Economic Empowerment is Kingdom Work
We Believe that We can Empower More Lives with You
When people are equipped with skills, resources, and opportunities, they don't just survive — they thrive and multiply their impact.
For too long, economic opportunity has been concentrated in the hands of a privileged few. Too many talented, hardworking individuals have been held back — not by a lack of ability, but by a lack of access. They don't have the networks. They don't have the mentors. They don't have someone to believe in them and open doors.
Friends of Malton exists to change that narrative.
We believe that:
Economic empowerment breaks cycles of poverty
When families achieve financial stability, they can invest in their children's education, health, and future -- breaking generational cycles of lack.
Entrepreneurship multiplies Kingdom impact
When we help someone start a business, they become job creators, community leaders, and generous givers who can bless others.
Professional development restores dignity
When someone gains the skills and confidence to advance in their career, they reclaim their sense of purpose and worth.
Access to opportunity levels the playing field
We provide the social capital, mentorship, and resources that others take for granted -- ensuring that talent, not privilege, determines success.
