Spiritual Activities
Finding peace and purpose together through prayer, study, and shared spiritual growth
Welcome to Our Spiritual Ministry
Encountering God. Growing in Faith. Walking Together.
We believe that true transformation happens when the soul encounters the Living God.
At Friends of Malton, spiritual activities are not just programs — they are the very heartbeat of who we are. Our Pentecostal foundation is characterized by a belief in the dunamis — the dynamic power of the Holy Spirit. We don't rely on human effort alone to solve problems or transform lives; we lean into the presence of God, believing that He still moves, still heals, still delivers, and still speaks today.
Our Spiritual Activities pillar is designed to create sacred spaces where people can encounter God, grow in their faith, and walk in community with other believers. Whether through prayer groups, “Hot Topic” discussion circles, worship gatherings, or digital prayer walls, we are committed to fostering an atmosphere where the Holy Spirit is welcomed and spiritual growth is intentional.
We believe that holistic transformation requires addressing the spirit — not just the body and soul. True success isn't just a full stomach or a stable job; it's a restored life anchored in relationship with Jesus Christ and a sense of God-given purpose.

Prayer & Intercession
We maintain a robust prayer ministry, including weekly prayer gatherings, digital prayer walls, and “Prayer Tents” at community events. We believe in the power of collective intercession and radical expectancy for breakthrough.
Biblical Teaching & Discussion
Our “Hot Topic” circles provide open spaces to discuss real-world issues — mental health, parenting, relationships, current events — through a biblical lens. Every voice is heard, and Scripture is our foundation.

We Believe that We can Foster More Spiritual Growth with You
Through intentional gatherings and Spirit-led activities, we create spaces where faith flourishes.
Weekly Prayer Gatherings
We host weekly prayer meetings -- both in-person and via Zoom -- where believers come together to intercede for our community, our families, and our world. These aren't formal, scripted prayers; they are authentic, Spirit-led times of warfare, worship, and breakthrough.
"Hot Topic" Discussion Circles
These are not your typical lectures. We sit in circles and discuss real-world issues -- mental health, parenting struggles, financial anxiety, social justice -- through a biblical lens. It's an open floor where every voice is heard, and Scripture provides our framework for truth and wisdom.
Digital Prayer Wall
Our online Digital Prayer Wall allows community members to submit prayer requests 24/7. Our prayer teams intercede regularly over every request, believing that no need is too small and no situation is beyond God's reach. You can also pray for others' requests, creating a web of intercession across our community.

Our Spiritual Foundation
Spiritual Transformation is Our Ultimate Goal
While we care for the body and mind, our greatest passion is seeing souls restored and lives anchored in Christ.
In many secular spaces, the focus is solely on the physical or the psychological. Because of our Pentecostal foundation, we see people as whole beings — body, soul, and spirit. We provide food and shelter (body), we offer counseling and community (soul), and we offer prayer and the message of the Gospel (spirit).
To us, true “success” isn't just meeting a physical need — it's seeing a life restored, a heart transformed, and a person walking in the fullness of their God-given purpose.
Here's why our spiritual activities are essential:
Empowerment through the Holy Spirit
We believe that we aren't meant to solve the world's problems through human effort alone. We rely on the dunamis -- the dynamic power of the Holy Spirit. This means we pray for wisdom before making strategic decisions and remain open to "divine interruptions."
Radical Expectancy
Pentecostal faith is characterized by expectancy. We believe in miracles. This influences our work because it prevents us from becoming cynical. When we encounter a "hopeless" situation, our faith tells us that no one is beyond the reach of God's grace.
Holistic Transformation
We don't just address symptoms; we address root issues. Poverty, addiction, broken relationships -- these are often spiritual battles that require spiritual weapons. We fight with prayer, Scripture, and the presence of God.
The Eternal Impact
While we take great pride in our social and educational work, the ultimate "win" for our team is the spiritual harvest. Over the decades, we have seen hundreds of hearts brought to the Lord, lives renewed by hope, and individuals walk into their divine purpose.
Spaces Where Heaven Meets Earth
What Our Spiritual Activities Look Like

Weekly Prayer Gatherings
Format: In-Person & Virtual (Zoom) • When: TBA
Our weekly prayer gatherings are the engine room of everything we do. These are not polite, religious meetings — they are times of authentic, Spirit-led intercession where we contend for breakthrough in our families, our community, and our world.
We pray for:
- ✓ The needs of our community members (health, finances, relationships)
- ✓ The spiritual atmosphere of Malton
- ✓ Revival and awakening in our city
- ✓ Protection over families and children
- ✓ Deliverance from bondage and addiction
- ✓ The success of our ministry initiatives
Who Should Attend: Anyone who believes in the power of prayer and wants to join a community of intercessors standing in the gap.
“The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” – James 5:16

“Hot Topic” Discussion Circles
Format: Monthly or Bi-Monthly Gatherings
These aren't lectures — they're conversations. We sit in circles (not rows) because we believe everyone has wisdom to share. A facilitator guides the discussion using Scripture as our foundation, but every voice is valued.
Topics We've Covered (including but not limited to):
- ✓ Mental health and the church's response
- ✓ Parenting in a digital age
- ✓ Faith and social justice
- ✓ Navigating grief and loss
- ✓ Marriage and relationships
- ✓ Financial stewardship from a biblical perspective
- ✓ Finding purpose in difficult seasons
“Iron sharpens iron, and one person sharpens another.” – Proverbs 27:17

Digital Prayer Wall
Format: 24/7 Online Platform
We know that spiritual battles don't wait for convenient times. Crises happen at 2 AM. Anxiety strikes on weekends. Our Digital Prayer Wall ensures that no matter when you need prayer, there's a community ready to stand with you.
How It Works:
- ✓ Visit our Digital Prayer Wall on our website
- ✓ Submit your prayer request (anonymously if you prefer)
- ✓ Our prayer teams intercede over every request submitted
- ✓ Community members can also pray for each other's requests
What We Pray For:
- ✓ Physical healing and health concerns
- ✓ Financial breakthrough and provision
- ✓ Relationship restoration
- ✓ Spiritual deliverance and freedom
- ✓ Guidance and wisdom for major decisions
- ✓ Comfort in times of grief and loss
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” – Philippians 4:6
1-1 Prayer Requests
Format: 1 on 1 Prayer Sessions with a member of our team or with Bishop Huel Wilson via YDM – Yeshua Deliverance Ministries
Our prayer team members offer a listening ear, confidential prayer, and words of encouragement from Scripture. We don't preach at you — we pray with you. We meet you where you are and point you toward the God who sees you and loves you.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28
Praise & Worship Gatherings
Format: Periodic Praise & Worship Nights
Our worship gatherings are times of corporate praise, thanksgiving, and encountering God's presence. These aren't performances — they're offerings. We come together to lift our voices, surrender our burdens, and experience the joy of worshiping the God who has been faithful to us.
- ✓ Live worship music (gospel, hymns, contemporary praise)
- ✓ Testimonies of God's faithfulness
- ✓ Times of corporate prayer
- ✓ Opportunities for individuals to receive ministry and prayer
“Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.” – Psalm 95:1
